AICHO is an interactive art installation explores the symbiosis between human and digital life through an immersive experience of sound and visuals.
With the groundbreaking developments in fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and biotechnology, technology ethics issues cannot be ignored. At the intersection of technology and art, AICHO explores how cutting-edge technology could redefine the boundaries between humans, life, and intelligence. In the exhibition, the breathing data of visitor becomes part of the exhibit. The act of “breathing together” with digital life prompts us to contemplate the presence of digital beings, explore potential resonances with these entities.
Project Overview
AICHO is an interactive art installation based on sound experience, which expresses thoughts on the future of virtual life, and explores the beautiful vision of harmonious coexistence between human beings and virtual creatures in the future ecology. The creative team has created four different virtual creatures through modeling and physical production, which are capable of transmitting sound through the characteristics of their own bodies, and the audience’s data will become part of the exhibition throughout the course of the exhibition. The viewer selects a creature in the interactive area and approaches the microphone to record his/her breath. The sound of the breath will be translated into a MIDI sound signal that awakens the virtual creature. The rise and fall of the silicone pneumatic and the blinking of the breathing light express the virtual creature’s breathing in and out. In this work, we hope to provoke the viewer to think about the virtual beings, “Can they hear me, can they resonate with me?” The sound of breathing represents a vision and expression of the future symbiotic relationship between man, nature and living things, which are interdependent and mutually reinforcing.
