Watch the Beijing Opera:A Sound Visualization Installation based on “The Drunken Beauty”

The project aims to visualize the sound data of the selected Beijing Opera singing voice through lighting and physical installations.

With the rapid advancement of multimedia digital technology and the rapid development of visual industry, the expression of art is becoming more and more diverse and creates richer and richer sensory experiences. The development of sound visualization theory and audiovisual art has injected new vitality into the presentation of sound art based on the mobilization of multiple sensory experiences of the human body.

This research deeply analyzes the theory of sound visualization and summarizes the different presentation ways and design characteristics of sound visualization combined with case analysis.

At the same time, combining the research with the design practice, taking the singing voice of the Beijing Opera “The Drunken Beauty” as the specific research and design object, extracting the sound data of the singing voice in the selected part through sound visualization technology, combining with the image of the phoenix crown of the concubine, forming an interactive device with dynamic lighting and mechanical structure, and interacting with the audience in the exhibition hall. Realizing the transmission of the Beijing Opera singing voice to the public in a three-dimensional visual way, forming an innovative experience design, so that the audience can “see” the Beijing Opera singing voice and experience the beauty of it. In the process of research and practice, the research ideas and realization methods of the Beijing Opera singing voice visualization are sorted out, which also provides a possibility for the research of Beijing Opera singing voice visualization.
