Statement

Xuanzhu Meng received an MDes in Interactive Design from Tsinghua University. During her senior year in high school, she was a science student and later pursued an undergraduate degree in Industrial Design at BIT. Xuanzhu has a keen interest in exploring new materials and designing emotionally expressive products. After completing her degree early, she attended the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London as a visiting student in the GID Program. During her graduate studies’ summer break, she interned at the China IBM Research Institute and Alibaba’s Data Technology Department, focusing on interaction design. During her Master’s program, Xuanzhu dedicated herself to studying the fusion of traditional fabrics with conductive yarns. Her goal was to create electronic fabrics capable of detecting interactive behavior, thereby enabling interactive designs that leverage the unique qualities of fabric materials.

Xuanzhu loves the rethink and redefine method of interactive designing and she will always keep creativity and curiosity in future way.
